It has been a while, hasn’t it? I just thought that I would give a quick update on everything. I got my Texas bar results, and I did not pass once again. Major bummer. I took a couple of weeks to figure out what my next step will be. Here’s what I decided: I am not going to re-take the Texas bar again anytime soon. I’m taking a break from the bar exam for a short while. I may take it again in the future, but that is mostly so that I can complete this whole thing. Know what I mean? I am currently putting in my resume with several oil companies in town (you wouldn’t believe how many oil companies are in Midland!!) for a position as a land representative. I would review contracts, leases, and land titles. Then, I get to explain it all to everyone else. I will be using a lot of my skills that I learned in law school, so this would be good for me. I’ve already put in with Kyle’s company, and I am just waiting to hear from them. Did I mention that there are a ton of oil companies in Midland? I will be able to find something somewhere.
In other news, Rocky is recovering very well from his knee surgery. He is jumping and running around the house. He will soon be back at the dog park. His newest trick that he is so proud of is jumping on our bed and snuggling down in the blankets for a nap. Sometimes, I walk around the corner and he is sitting tall and pretty in the middle of our bed. Cheeky monkey.
Tomorrow, Kyle and I are leaving for a week in East Tennessee. We will see my parents and my brother’s group at my grandparents’ house for the long weekend. Then, we will have a couple of days alone in the middle of the week. Kyle’s family (parents, grandma, and sister’s bunch) is then meeting us for the last weekend of our trip. It has turned out to be a nice way to see both of our families without having to drive all over Indiana.
